Account deletion
Deleting your account and data
One Rightis account signs you in to NO FAKES and our other services, so closing the account closes all of them together. This page explains where to ask, what happens after you ask, and what we keep.
Where to request it
Sign in, then go to your rights wallet, open Settings and choose Delete account. The address is rightis.org/en/wallet/settings/delete You do not have to give a reason. Requiring one would put a price on exercising a right. Uninstalling the app does not close your account. It only removes the app from that device.

What happens after you ask
We email you a confirmation. If someone else made the request, that email is the only way you would find out, so you cannot switch it off in your notification settings. There is a seven-day grace period. You can cancel during it. Our staff cannot approve the request before the grace period ends either, because approving early would take away time that belongs to you. After the grace period a member of staff reviews the request. They check for records we are legally required to keep, contracts still running, and payouts not yet settled. Approval is not erasure. It is a person confirming that erasure is allowed. You can cancel until processing begins. Once it begins it cannot be undone, because no one can honestly claim to have restored a half-deleted account.

What closes
When the account closes you can no longer sign in, and every service you used with this account closes with it. That includes the face and voice you registered, your likeness-rights entries, your search history and your draft reports. The Delete account and data option inside NO FAKES opens this same request. Pressing it in the app and asking here are the same thing, and the whole account closes. There is not yet a way to leave one service and keep the rest. When there is, we will say so here. You can take down individual portraits or assets while keeping your account, from Assets in your rights wallet. That stops them being shown and licensed. It does not erase them from the registry. Those are two different things, so we describe them differently.

What we keep, and why
Records we are required by law to retain stay for a fixed time after the account closes. There is one reason: if we delete them, nobody can later establish who consented to what or what was contracted, and the person that usually hurts is you. Contract, payment, settlement and payout records are kept for five years. Contract records keep the party's name as it was when the contract was made, and the persona code. These are the periods set by Korea's Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce and tax law. A tax ID is kept for five years only if we actually paid you. Otherwise it is deleted when the account closes. Complaint and dispute records are kept for three years. Consent records and audit records are kept for five years from the day the account closes, then deleted. They record what you agreed to and when, and what we did. Kept records are held apart from other data and visible only to staff with legal or finance access. They no longer appear anywhere in the service. Your registered face and voice, identity-check captures and persona trait scores are not kept, because we have no duty to keep them.

If you cannot sign in
If you have lost your password or can no longer use the sign-in method you registered with, write to support@rightis.org We will verify who you are and then follow the same process on your behalf. Do not email us a national ID number or a password. We will never ask for either. You can also write to the same address to ask how a request of yours is progressing.

One thing we should say plainly
What we keep, and for how long, was settled after a legal review and is set out above. For now, though, the erasure itself happens after a member of staff has checked it. The request, the grace period and cancellation run automatically, and after that staff check for open contracts and settlements and carry it out. When it starts running automatically we will update this page. Writing down a deadline we cannot yet keep would be a promise we cannot keep.
