AI use policy
As of 7 September 2026. This is the human-readable policy referenced by tdmrep.json, ai.txt and the registry files.
What it covers
Every photo, recording and video on rightis.org, and the faces, voices and personas of registered people and characters. Text pages may be read by AI.
Training use
No by default. A registered person may consent separately to supply training data, and only consented data is supplied, through Rightis dataset contracts. Everyone else is on the do-not-train list.
Generation use
Depends on the person. The public lookup returns allowed, approval needed or refused. Inside an allowed scope a contract proceeds at once; approval needed means the holder decides in Rightis. Unregistered people are not treated as cleared.
For AI agents
Check through the public lookup API or the public MCP server before generating. Contracts, usage logs and persona policy go through the keyed API and MCP server. A sandbox key is issued immediately in the developer console.
Machine-readable signals
llms.txt, ai.txt, the W3C TDM reservation file, the registry file and the do-not-train list. Developers that honour these get a real exclusion effect; for the others they are a record of prior notice.
