Reporting a deepfake, from evidence to takedown

If the post disappears before you record it, the evidence goes with it. So the first step is a record: copy the post address, save the screen, then upload your original photo and the found image to the Rightis misuse check.

The fastest route is the platform where the post lives. The response page lists the report windows for Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Facebook and Naver, plus the Korea Communications Standards Commission review request. Most platforms review a likeness report within days.

Attach the evidence sheet and quote the record code and time of check. If the same image spread across platforms, report to each one.

The next step is a formal notice to the poster demanding removal. The notice draft on the response page needs only your name, contact, the recipient, the address where you found it and a deadline. Print three copies and any post office in Korea sends it as certified content.

If you do not know the recipient address, a notice alone is not enough. Run the platform report and the law-firm proposal together.
